Karen Silver

Karen Silver is an emerging writer born and presently residing in St. Johns’, NL. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland where she majored in Communications and minored in Linguistics. Karen worked on the University’s Student Newspaper The Muse from 2014-2018 where she held such positions as Feature Editor, Lifestyle Editor, Online Editor, and then went on to become Editor in Chief for her final academic year, and she is presently a copywriter at Dc Design House.

Karen is a member of the Writer’s Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador, and has primarily centered her writing career in journalism; freelancing for other local publications, and writing book reviews and other local arts pieces before she was awarded a grant from Arts NL which helped publish her first set of children’s stories set in Newfoundland and Labrador.
