Jen Winsor, Executive Director
With a background in Journalism and Communications, Jen has been working in the Newfoundland and Labrador arts scene for over 15 years. Jen spent much of this time working with the Music Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (MusicNL) as their Communications and Program Officer while acting as the Regional Educational Coordinator for the Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings (FACTOR). She was honoured to receive the 2015 ‘Denis Parker Music Industry Builder Award’ namely for her work developing the youth focused ‘NewFound Talent Contest’. Jen left Newfoundland and Labrador to spend a few years travelling with Royal Caribbean Cruise lines working in their Arts and Entertainment Division as Cruise Program Administrator.
Jen is happy to be back working in the arts in her home province as the Executive Director of the Writers’ Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador. Jen also currently sits on the City of St. John’s Arts and Culture Advisory Committee representing literature, the Board of Directors for the Folks Arts Society and is Chair of the Programming Committee for the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival. She is also writing a non-fiction book, working title “Ship Moms Project”, which is a collection of stories from women who got pregnant while working on cruise ships.

Wendy Rose, Member Services Coordinator
A freelance arts journalist focusing primarily on arts and lifestyles, Wendy Rose writes for local media outlets such as The Telegram, The Newfoundland Herald, Downhome Magazine, Now Atlantic, The Overcast, Secret East, CBC, and CBC Arts.
When she’s not at WANL, you can find Wendy wherever the local arts and cultural events are happenin’ at the time. Since August 2016, she has been The Telegram’s main live event reviewer for music, theatre, contemporary dance, film, ballet, festivals, performance art, and more.
As well as reviewing live events, Wendy has also written hundreds of arts/lifestyles features, interviewing dozens of amazing local writers over the years, such as Megan Coles, Herb Hopkins, Nellie P. Strowbridge, Antony Berger, Nicolas Ruddock, Trudy Morgan-Cole, Russell Wangersky, Jim Wellman, Jamie Fitzpatrick, Victoria Barbour, Joseph Keaney, Dawn Baker, Ben Cox, Chris Ryan, Fred Humber, Bobbi Pike, Frank Galgay, William C. Malone — just to name a few!
She is ecstatic to join WANL , and to continue supporting local authors in a new capacity.
