Ava is currently immersed in a writing project funded by ArtsNL that brings queerness, personal history, Polish identity, folk rituals, and pagan wildcraft together. She has a degree in Literature from the University of Calgary and an Honours Art History degree from the University of Alberta. Her debut novel House of Ash lies at the crossroads of supernatural Victorian Gothic and modern Psychological Realism. She lives in Harbour Grace where she studies ecology, the spiritual in nature, folklore, poetry, photography, and the intersection of trauma, psychology, embodiment and design. She has an invisible disability in the form of chronic neuropathic pain and is actively healing complex PTSD.
